Summer meadow flowers at Highley Manor

Yanna and Daniel’s summer wedding at Highley Manor in Balcombe was a beautiful example of how it’s possible to use lots of colour whilst still keeping a soft and romantic feel. By choosing delicate, airy blooms like delphiniums, scabious, ammi and sweet peas, I created a summer meadow feel that worked perfectly in this beautiful venue.

For their outdoor ceremony I decorated the Pavilion with a pair of meadow boxes and a high floral installation. These arrangements were all moved inside after the ceremony for Yanna and Daniel’s reception.

Yanna’s bouquet was a rainbow of soft and romantic hues, and pops of brighter colours. I also made pocket flowers for Daniel and his groomsmen, which are a fun alternative to the more traditional buttonhole.

Delicate bud vases added height, texture and fragrance to the reception tables. These were interspersed between elegant taper candles and complemented by soft sage green chair drapes and fairy lights.

Review

Wow. Just wow. I know everyone thinks they had the best flowers at their wedding. but I actually did!
Karen was so lovely and responsive. She put together a moodboard so that I was able to get the vibe of what we were going for (I was also able to send her ideas to add to the board). I will say though – the board definitely did NOT do the final result justice! I thought the board was beautiful but the real life result was just stunning. We went for bud vases, meadow boxes, arch flowers, pocket flowers, and my bouquet. Each and every reasonably priced penny WELL spent. I don’t know what I was picturing but Karen knocked it out of the park. EVEN setting up in the drizzly rain (which ended up in a beautiful day!). I will let the pictures speak for themselves, I think even the photographer loved them!
